I'm from the Epic Games Forums and saw the topic that was created. I'll get in on this. I am very good with Photoshop and I do need a nice UT wallpaper. I'll have something within a week.

Yup welcome Broski, sounds good! - looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Thanks!
Well, I got side-tracked in the past 8 hours and decided to play around with vector graphics, which I haven't done since my Junior year in High School. Didn't go so well, but I may as well make it a submission. This is not my main submission. This image was originally of Malcolm, but the filters weren't looking so hot so I just made it a simple silhouette. He is holding a UT99 Enforcer doing a dodge while killing another tournament competitor. I tried making it look better in Photoshop, at least it looks decent now. The background was made with Pinta, the vectors with Inkscape, and the rest in Photoshop CS5 running in Wine 1.2. If you look in the bottom left corner you can see blood which I decided to make a shadow and have the U logo be red. All of this was original content made by me except for the logo which was heavily modified from the original.
Now I am going back to work on my main submission.

Cool submission & welcome on UOF

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- thanks a lot mate , and sorry for the late reply , i missed this post
After brainstorming several ideas and trying to find something that would be familiar but creative, here is my final submission. I took the idea of the UT3 front cover stripes and decided to incorporate the 3 "eras" of Unreal Tournaments. In the left stripe you can see UT3, middle UT2004 (Xan is also holding a beta assault rifle I think), and right is UT99. I really hope you guys like it.
My only suggestion would be to make the pics inside the stripes a bit less red. You have to look very closely to see what's inside the stripes & even then, it's not clear.
It's a nice idea but imho would look better if we could see more all the UT generations you put side by side in those stripes

Hmmm. You think I should make them a little bit darker with the outlines maybe? Thanks for the feedback by the way!

Heu, nope, I mean make the pics inside the srtipes more visible so we can clearly see what is all about. I mean if you didn't mention all UT generations where there, I wouldn't notice, they are almost hidden in the bold red color. Hope it's more clear !

would also be cool if you had UT99 to the left, UT2K in mid and UT3 to the right
Yeah I realized that when I had already finished the first stripe. I was originally planning to do it like that, but I absent mindedly started out with UT3. I do have a plan on how I can easily switch them without having to edit too much.
Wait, before you do so, you can interpret an interesting meaning into this! It's what makes it special!
Back to the roots, just saying. Think about it especially since the topic is "where do you want the Unreal series to go".
Good interpretation. I do wish UT3 was more like the old ones. Movement was more restricted and slightly slower I felt in UT3. I wasn't meaning to have that in the stripes, but it is exactly how I feel though. If there was a new Unreal Tournament, I would like it to be like the older ones. Should I keep it in the order that it is?
