Depending on which game. In UT99 and Unreal GOLD you couldn't just spawn right away if there was a certain setting activated. You had to go to the menu, to options -> player settings, and below the character was a small tickbox with "Join as Spectator". If it was ticked, you can't join because you're spectator. So you had to untick it and if you didn't join then, reconnect, then it should work.
PS: Congrats on obtaining Unreal Anthology! You will enjoy your journey through Na Pali and fighting in outposts on that planet in the original UT, such as Darji and Hydro16 or fighting on skyscrapers like DM-Crane (I recommend to re-install the bonus packs for UT99 as the Anthology seems to lack some maps, mine had no Crane for example which is a fun map, especially for TDM). May the ASMD be with you and may the Translocator guide your path!

I have installed UNREAL ANTHOLOGY and I cannot work out how to spawn when I join a multiplayer game. Ive set up my preferences etc. Usually its as simple as hitting "Fire" using mouse 1 but it doesnt seem to work. Can anyone tell me how Im supposed to spawn?
