First order of business is to get Malevolence out the door in a finished state. Then I got that oil rig and asteroid level to get done.
While I was searching for all my source files I came across an awesome Idea for a UDK environment. More on that after I get something out the door first.
Just got some editor time in today. I have decided to do a Classic version where everything will be as close to identical as I can make it. Attached is a pic containing the fruits of my labour thus far.
Think of that original version of Campgrounds with all the original textures for UT2004. That's what Malevolence Classic will be.
Then I can revisit my upgraded version after that... Maybe. Will see what the community want before I decide on that.

nice job mate,( perhaps/probably... it s not finished but )wow... the ambient darkness is scaring as possible , it fits like a glove to the place!...:)
Ok I can now go to bed. I am back where I was before the crash. have a few more textures to port over and then lighting to clean up. Map should be ready soon.

Didn't get much free time today but I have all textures imported except for light fixtures. Only things left now are fixtures with lighting, and pathing.
I have 2 backups in multiple locations. Leaving nothing to chance this time :)
The editor can be very trying at times, I can only say don't forget about autosaves. It not perfect solution but it can save the accumulation of few white hairs.
So it seems that I have a working copy of the original Release Candidate 2. I followed a forum post about uncooking a map and it seems to be holding thus far. I did try to cook it again to make sure it wouldn't crash on me. It didnt. Fingers crossed.
If all goes according to plan. There will be two maps released. Classic (everything as close to original as possible) and SE (some tiny liberties taken)
Lots happening: See attached screenine for progress:
i ve read about the two versions on epics forum , nice idea, it will allow you more "freedom" on the revamped version...and from screenies both are visually nice....cant wait to walk on thoses craking woods for a RC or a final
