hey guys i m searching some decent red and blue clothes to apply on the huge hanging flags on Bridge of fate; something with some visible stitches/meshes/knit because the surface is very large and high and can easily look monotonous...
After checking all custom packs I have to find something for you, the only tissues I'm aware that you could use with textures in good quality are the one from Remus retro pack.
Therefore, Remus retro pack as all textures seperate so you must import the mesh you like & make all the materials.
It's a pure hazard but yesterday I spend all days making those materials to see if I could use something in Fatima.
I suggest you check it out. Maybe it can be useful ?

Can you do a quick google search and show me what kind of "cloth" you are going for. Also what kind of symble. Keep in mind I don't know exaclty how I will try to make this work, but that's the challenge. I just need to be clear what you want!

no it going on imported bsp(fromut2k4) converted to sm via the ut3 ed u can check the beta ; it s thoses huge vertical hanging flags if u need an uncooked version to have better idea i can upload one
I know the flags in your map are angled at the bottom and if you want me to do that, that should be no problem, but it will add an extra texture to the material. I made these as sort of a "rough draft" to get your feedback. I can add similar skulls that dont' have the "scars" in the bone. I can also send you a image with different skulls and dragons, to see which one you like best.
I also have a test map for you to see them in game. I just created a simple BSP sheet to apply the material, which can then be converted to a static mesh. The blue flag has a normal map, but the red one doesn't (right now), to see if you can tell the difference.
Let me know what you think and we can go from there.

I see what you mean. Also, there isn't as much contrast between blue and black. If it was a white skull, I think it would stand out more. Changing the color of the flag is really easy. If you have a certain blue in mind, let me know.

Hehe... we both should be thankful for free Photoshop "brushes", which allowed me to make that dragon with a click of a button.

It does have the normal map applied to it, which will make it look different. Keep in mind that you can have any color you want, especially if you can tell me it's RGB values (or similar).

I will see what I can do. I will give the rectangled ones, because they are done. I will try to do one like you have in your map and also one with a "V" shape.

I squished the image, so it will look a little distorted. If you want a gold border on the blue flags, that's easy to change. I made "custom" static meshes for each flag and you can easily switch between the two team colors.
Here is the test map. On one side, you will see these flags. On the other, you will se the "same" flag, but there is something different. Tell me which one you like better (right or left). I also made the flags two-sided. If these are going up against a wall, that can be changed to one-sided for better optimization.
Let me know what you think once you see them in game.
Also, there is a .upk file that has all of the custom stuff in it. Be sure to have that installed too (it can be in the same folder as the map).

They should be the same. It could just be the picture (I may have taken it at an angle and I did "squish" the picture to make it fit on the forum.

I think it would be a little more balanced compared to the drag. The dragon is tall and skinny, while the skull is tall and fat. If you want me to adjust, just let me know.

GIMP supports photoshop brushes, which is great because there aer so many out on the web. I am a GIMP addict.

well i wasnt really abble to see big differences between the two sides i have note that 1 face have positive/added/embossed relief:
and the other negatice /substracted relief:
for the flags with one face i prefer the second (with holes/negative relief) and for double faced flags i prefer to use it like u did it with ech model on each face
...but i have suddent doubt and i m not really sure to have understand your question lol...i have watch em under all angles from the spect mode in game ; in game and via the ed but....they look very nice and similar to me (DM-Blitz_flag1 and DM-Blitz_flag2 are quite the same ....i m a bit lost)

Yes, one does have a slight positive elief to it (left side), the other doesn't have any relief added. Remember that it's only the 2 blue flags on one end of the room. The other 6 don't have any relief added to it.
If you want some that has one side to it and others with two sides, you will have to have separate materials.
So to review:
You want 3 styles of flag for each flag.
The blue flags will have a black skull with a gold border? Red flags will have gold dragon with a gold border?
Keep size of the dragon the same, but make the skull a little smaller.
I can add the files to the map on Sunday (tomorrow), will you be working on that map then?

i like the relief part; but it depend of the time u have here too

I will use that link you just gave me and update them today so you will have the map on Monday morning (when the sun comes up). You are are about 9 hours ahead of me (if you live in the same time zone as paris).
Since it's not late at night for me, I don't think I made any mistakes, but you never know.
Here is the version of the map with all of the new stuff added. I set up the materials and meshes and placed each of them (3 red and 3 blue) in the map over the bridges. REMEMBER to not delete any of the static meshes that I added, if you do and you build/save the map, some of the textures may get removed.
All of the flags have a normal map applied to them to give them some "relief/depth". If you open the material in the editor, there is a node at the bottom (with a note above it). If you change the value for "B", it will change how much "relief" there is. Slightly lower it to increase it, increase to make it less noticeable.
I placed all of the symbols at the same height, so they are consistent and you can place different styles of flags next to each other.
