I was given a guest pass and have played the 1st 3 campaign levels. So far I'm very impressed! So impressed that that I'm buying 2 copies tomorrow! Still deciding if I should get a collectors and a norm..or two norm editions..
I was surprised with the in-between missions stuff and the fact that you collect money to buy research! All good in my book!
If ya get it add me as a friend. "LrdPorkSword" - Apparently Lord isn't allowed within a name...WTF!! (if ya don't believe me try it )

I can't believe they removed the LAN play option on this guys?
I don't have the bandwidth to have everyone on my LAN connect to battlenet (free or not)
WarCraft used to be free on battlenet also, lets hope their not going there like they eventually did with WOW.
With out the LAN feature as much as i loved the first game and Blizzard games i'm going to personally pass unless they patch it and release a fix for it. (There was a huge petition on this, it seems they cut off their own noses to spite their faces)
What about all the peeps in rural areas, what about all the peeps on dial up, what about those with no connection, what was Blizzard thinking ..
They used the excuse of piracy but I'm personally not buying that one, its more about bad decisions with in company leadership and greed so that they can possibly eventually commercialize or charge a subscription like they eventually realized the profitability WOW. (At least their keeping it as an option this way with StarCraft II now as well - not sure if they will eventually or not or perhaps on StarCraft III) If it were really an issue of loss prevention they could do like Ascaron did with Sacred 2. (Its a very reliable 1 time activation system, like some O/S have)
Oh well have fun for me LPS / guys ..

I doubt very much that there will be an official LAN patch. The alterior motive to remove LAN play would be to stop piracy, at least in the multiplayer side of things, IMO!
A friend gave me a retail copy of Starcraft 2, had some fun with it in LAN and then moved on to Campaign. Awesome game, unlike most single player rts campaigns this one is actually quite fun!
And the story is cool ofc :). Can't wait for expansions!
@ 1xtreme, it does suck that there's no LAN. But imo just the singleplayer part of the game is worth the money it costs. Also, do people still use dial up? :P

I finished the campaign last night and it was probably the best RTS campaign I've played in any game! You are right in that the game is worth the money for the campaign alone!
Watch out for the last mission in the campaign..it's a ripe b1tch!
Which units are they. I was told by a M8 that there online mode is stripepd down but I seemed to have most(if not all) things in VersusAI.
My only issue with the game is that the Galaxy editor looks mighty mighty tempting. I was playing around with it the other night and was able to get a quik working map up and running without the wiki that seems to be non existant atm. I'm trying to avoid the editor as I know that I'll be playing with it when I should be back in the UT3 editor.
I've been playing with the Galaxy Editor for the last week, learning on the fly! As expected I've gone straight for the Space assets and have been working on a smallish 4 player map! I've gone for a symetrical space platform map to keep things simple! Here's two screenies!
One half of the map:

The editor seems OK enough. Some things were annoying until I worked out how to do it...like rotating objects...
