lol.....dunno wtf but suddently i cant launch ut3 game & ed and even ut2004 crash down since some hours; two cleans ut3 reinstall later i still have same problem:


i m ill of all thoses ****s ...i go to bed.....scool is back tommorrow for children and still...3.30hrs to sleeeeeeeeeep...whot???!!!oioioioioiooioi gn ;)

was a fraqn update from vista that have bugged my casual C++
reinstalled 2005++ and 2008++ x86 and x 64 and it seem to have fix the problem

feel better after 2 more ut3 reinstall....this time ut was innocent :p

Anyone know how to disable the translocator in a map without having to use a mutator?  cry
Personally I hate the translocator as I feel it's like cheating when using it. bleh
...plus it makes bots do dumb things in my Babylon map. evileye

i dont think it s possible....but i know all is possible in ut ed....lol

btw does anyone know where to find a white texture? i cant find any decent uniform white texture in the stock ones and i had to change my space ship to another color....weird i though that the white was a basis
i have found several white snow and "unlit concrete" looking ones but nope with some reflection and brillance....i hope i ll not have to do it myself

I've never seen anything like what you need myself so I'd suspect you'll have to create one.

Other option is make a material instance of a material similar to what you want and play with the settings to see if you can achieve what you want! This works for some materials but not all.

 Hey mate,

White materials are rare for severals reasons. Still, you can make your own pretty easily if you want your material to be shiny / reflective.

Check my Nano materials because it's all stock but as been greatly enhance to fits my needs. Even Station12 as enhanced materials & it's less complicated smile

For a starting point, the inputs you must play with is the specular & after if you want more precision, you play with specular power. Just plug a constant1 in both & play with a values from 0.5 to 5 & you'll see the effect. The specular is the overall refection, the specular power the precision (depending if you want your material to look like metal, plastic, etc).

My advice, just don't go to far on the specular, the more you add, the more the material will reflect which isn't good.

thx for tips steve;for now i have changed the texturing of the spaceship to something more "conventionnal":mix of white & grey parts
it was a too big deal to have an "homogen" lighting....i have very dark parts in other zones of the map
i use a skylight with very sweet & accurate settings to enlight the darkests parts and no way to get good results with white textures:they always looks too enlighted and if u use material with the famous specular thing it just dont cast shadows....anyway using white textures &materials was a good way to take a lighting lesson :)


will try to built new material soon with ur recommendations...but for the fun and probably not for this map.....i understand now the problems on maps like the genesis projekt or hanging gardens day...

Yep, white materials is something non-friendly & is very hard to make look good without blinding the players.

Now you know why those authors have some damn issues making there maps "accepted" by everyone. White can look gorgeous but in the UT world is the less color adequate for the majority of built-in assets.

My UT3 is stating to crack up for some reason but it mostly like the computer got patches of holes in it's OS.

i had to reinstall all my ut3 another time yesterday after a fraqn vista service pack 2 update; even replacing all files by "saved & safe " files was still crashing the game....but the game only! with a weird "crack" noise on my audio card....after clean & total uninstall & complete reinstall all was working fine
the editor was still working fine;and the game crash was after map load just when u join the game(offline& online)....

i cant help on log affairs i m not enough skilled but that log message i never have seen


we hate to have to reinstall all the stuff....especially when we took the precaution to save all the files! but UT3 is a wild horse haha

so...gl ;)

Yep might to need reinstall it shame.....but my computer is acting all weird for last 4 months anyway.

Going to get windows 7 for my new rig I'm going to build from ground up.

I just got rid of XP 32bit sp3 and install I know XP Pro 64bit SP1 and I'm about to download sp2.

Does UT3 support Windows XP Pro 64bit Edition by any chances?

This is only for time being for early next year I'm going to get win 7 for a new computer I going to build.

As far as I know there's not 64bit exe for UT3 unfortunately. cry
But it will run nicely on a 64bit setup anyway. biggrin

My games...no wait my whole computer is not working right after uninstalled C + + 2005 runtime errors, bluescreens when the windows starts up windows sounds effect jumps.
