edit: i just reinstalled filezilla but i cant access to the ftp database to upload it...i just have send a pm to zunnie to see if he have moove the redirect on another log :p

Thx uncle Bl!tz, download worked like a charm. But... I can't play this map. Average fps at 30, fluctuation between 27 and 55. Stuttering pure... The worst fps I ever got on any map with my system (Q9650 + GTX 285). What is wrong with this map? I'll try this next time with my Vista 64, atm I am on XP.
Edit: The same on my Vista 64 bit: fps 33-60 + mouselag

-the server is mainly used for 1 v 1 and station12 is the only map from u that play tip top in 1v1...othas are too big^^
-i have not add maps on the server since ages....i dont play anymore and except rulaman no uof member plays online there
-the target of this server will be to run only classicals & mainly low grav maps at the end (rankin; morpheus3; hyperblast; phobos; peak; bouncymap; ironic; barricade; idoma; flux...) + all the maps from the UOF/ex-{BFG} crew especially build (or fiting) for/to the server (paradox; katami; terminal; babylon;gravitation; stasio; dolmens; unreality;...) i m gonna finish/adjust the map rotation very soon as i seriously think to be back in gaming world after finishing my current betas...i map just because i wasnt satisfed with existant maps...lol...
if u plane to join the server, just tell; i can add maps to the listing (but i m HD limited & i cant install all ....:p)

Sometimes I think that it doesn't make much sense to install new maps at all. I have somewhat about 100 maps installed on my UT3 server, but this 16 slot server does only have max 2-4 players per day, and then they most of them vote for stock maps. What a shame...
At the moment I think I will do a last map upload in one of the next days (when my DemonsKeep is final) with some maps I have found here and some others that are waiting on my hdd, but after this.... -fin-.
Yeah, the few people who actually play UT3 online don't want to spend time waiting on custom maps to be downloaded. I played online for a while but got sick of Biohazard, Deck and all the other oh so popular maps. It's a shame really, the game is good but with the few maps actually played online and the few people who play online it's just not worth it anymore.
Making maps is where the fun is :D. Me and a couple of friends played my newest DM map on the last LAN session we had, I gave them all some major asskicking due to knowing the map to 100% haha :P

There is something I don't catch..
Aly is the smallest map of the bunch. It as been made for 1 to 6 players & FPS is as good if not better than Station 12 wich as been made for 11 players. Aly file size is also the smalest.
I don't understand how you can have fun playing Station 12 in 1on1 & get better FPS than Aly & have problem pushing from the server when the map is smallest than Station 12 ?
Not that it is important, it doesn't matter but I just don't make any sense to me

i have awfull fps in aly and as far as i m the first user of the server i keep only playable maps but i told ya all that in aly topic ;)
station 12 was installed on the server for RC online testing and the mate who tested it with me (big'al) told me that he liked it...so to please my UT partner i installed it and we enjoyed playing it in 1v1....that doesnt mean that "station12 is a 1v1 map" or "that it s a better 1v1 than this or that"....it s just personnal feeling.... i dont enjoy playing maps with fps problems and aly is so even in fps version: it still not good for me and is worst than quite all stock maps.....it s a piece of art but not playable here
though if any user asked/ask me to install it i had/will do it with pleasure
btw i never have push your maps from the server....i never installed em there....600 custom maps on my hd .....25 on the server.....one from you is good as the map wasnt build for that! my maps are there because they ARE 1v1 maps the maps from nova;sis...& diesalot are there because they choosed to build 1v1 maps for the online community (bfg s for katami & terminal) and paradox ; unreallity ;gravitation & stasio was build especially for fun and are playable on lightest PCs
no maps from thrallala; just one from mick; no DM from 1x(lol he do only ctf:p) or from rathalos and their maps are beautifull too imo but not fine on all rigs; it s a gaming server and not an art gallery!... sorry my friends to be so hard with ya ...lol^^it exist a short community that dont play stock maps and prefer the holp style or the old style
common steve i m sure u ll spend some hours to build a 1v1 fps map and it ll be receive as that !...no doubts ;)
Well, it's fine Éric. I know you already told me that Aly didn't had good FPS but we all know this is caused by the NVidia drivers when SLI mode is enable.
Maybe one day, I'll make a true 1on1 map & will end on the server

hehe..., another odd thing now... I voted for DM-TheEdge because it's one of my favorite maps and know that I have it installed, and then... download.... Download was very fast, so np first. But when the download was at 99%, it restarted downloading at 0.1% and slow like hell... (would have needed hours).
I disconnected and started DM-TheEdge local without any problem (because I really had it installed!).
So what's going on there? Different Map version? I play this map many months now on my server and don't know about a different version with same name. And what is the problem with the download? argh... lol I have just no luck there...
As you can see the first one is 12960 k, which I think is an uz3 file and comes from redirect. The second one is 15261 k and should be the ut3 file from the gameserver.
But my files are: 12961 k uz3 and 15241 ut3.
Either it are different maps, or there happened an accident while uploading. How did you upload them? FTP - binary mode or FTP - ASCII mode?

Yes, if you did not change something on the default settings of FileZilla, then it should be binary for these files. Odd thing is this...
EDIT: i have just downloaded the map from your redirect, and decompressed the file - used hexeditor to compare it with my DM-TheEdge... it's identical.
EDIT2: Did a test and deleted the map from my CustomMaps folder, but same download problem as before. This let me assume that the file on the gameserver somehow is corrupt...

redirect change from free mp-servers to free public redirect for UT3 on ut-files.com. i ve compressed and uploaded missing DM-map from mappacks (only orbital flux )& classics(bouncymap, demonskeep,phobos...) just tested it and it work really fast, thx skillZ
better late than never i finally found some time to install all the Deathmatch maps from the UOF3 mappack on the server & i just finished to upload compressed UZ3 files on www.ut-files.com redirect...time2kill
Hey B, is your server down for good? I'm going to keep my UT3 server up until UT4 cloud servers are rent-able. Amazingly, there has a been a flurry of activity on my server in the last week. Always hard to tell when it's going to happen. So, still doing some UT3 and playing the UT4 alpha. Won't be going back to 2004 anytime soon.
