DM-Dolmens

2 to 12 players.

Description, history & comments:

To be abble to install their regenerators and teleporters close to a unstable magnetic area, the Liandri have build this structure with a mix of stones collected all around the galaxy and with powerfull magnetism.Though the unstability of the area was so huge that several fighters have die during the teleportation process.After some addaptations the Liandri have decide to remove the teleporters and to give back this arena to the tournament...

I tryed to keep the level simple (meshing & lighting) as it will be a part of a huge map
though i tryed to keep it eyecandy from the playable area

DodgeJump mutator is recommended

Last changes from RC Version:

-reset all playerstarts at equal distances from a weaponbase and with right "orientation"
-revamped the sniper supports/bases/boxes
-add 6 health vialth  and 2 x 50 health packs on the middle level
-add 2 x 50 health packs ; a helmet and the thingpads on the bottom level
-reduced the size of the tiles from 16 to 8...
-modification of the weapons ammo placement
-deplacement of some 50health packs
-last adjustements on the sky

In case it isn't obvious CTF is my game type of choice biggrin i'll be looking forward to a CTF-Dolmens. When i have a little more time, i'll post more on that subject.

Yes, this could be a cool CTF map as well with some additions of course. You definitely want to play this as a TDM map in deathmatch though. It’s a space map with a great music choice, ambient sounds, lowG, and very good lighting/shadows (esp. around the warrior statues area). I like the jumppads, stonework, trim, gryphons, lower paths, armor vest location and cool skybox. The bots are very good also and my team lost the first match 49-50 (they launched a redeemer at the very end).

I've already posted reviews of all the other maps here elsewhere; but that didn't stop me from posting them again here in 2019.;)  Anyone feel free to copy and paste my reviews in the corresponding threads if you like, but I have other fish to fry. Just wish I would have discovered this forum earlier.

The important thing is, you have a good time here and I can't say anything, because I like hanging out here! :)

 

This map is kinda fun, like a arena in space...oh yeah that brings back memories. Anyway, this map kinda reminds me of a lot of things, other similar looking maps from the UT franchise or even the swimming/floating islands from Tomb Raider II. Nevertheless, the layout is good, typical arena style, I like that and the whole map design is not bad. However, if you put in more life and detail in this one, this map could be a real beauty. You know, put in more different floors and maybe a small indoor area and put some fire and other vivid particles in this map. The skybox looks marvellous, I like that, but the planet below the arena looks a little bit weird. Maybe scale it a bit down or something. One thing is sure, if you would go ahead and do some mapping stuff, I would like that!

There is something I have to tell you though, when I played this map for the first time, I thought this was Stonehenge in space, because it kinda reminded me of that, hehe.

thanks here too mate,plans were: simple layout DM and more complex layout CTF from the same project.....CTF is aborted

stonehedge was the theme idea....dunno why this big stone i used here always remind me a big dolmen from stonehedge construction...the liandri stoled them the stones to build this arena....the liandri rulz the world ....lolz^^

Nah, the hair situation is not that bad yet.

Also, one doesn't simply lose hair with age, uncle Blitz! It just changes location (e.g. from head to the back), just like with our beloved franchise, it just changes location from the spotlight of a famous game franchise to a franchise that is played even after the fame is long since gone, not immediately visible, but still present (especially in the hearts of the fans) - and if one tries to get rid of it, it will always come back!

By the way, this is still an awesome tattoo.

Well, if you would make a CTF version of this map, it could be related to or you could use the idea of Facing Worlds, you know. I would like that, because Facing Worlds is just beautiful! Especially with the Lightning Gun! Damn, why did Epic Games not put this gun in UT3?! It was so much fun in UT2004 to see your enemy's head burning, hehe.

That tattoo looks awesome, amigo! Nice one! And let me guess, at your heart's place, there you got the Unreal Engine logo, eh? :D
