...rofl....each day a new map...you have a good cadency bro ;)

Well i actually tried a lot more snow, but came to this because it all ends up white and blending together. I could use more on the outside i guess. I have plans to pile snow around everything outside with meshes. I also want emitters blowing a little snow through the broken windows.
The map our dear blitz is refering to by lord is WAR-Glacial. there is a pic in the final thread of lord stuff (blitz as alzeimer, poor thing :p).
I agreed with Blitz, it need much more snow than atm. Small piles inside & other much bigger piles outside on roofs & the ground would be appropriate but you already planned to add them so...

srry to have to say that this time i have a corrupt file while trying to unzipp em
will re DL it again to be sure
edit: no more success with second try; in fact it s same kind of "error message" i had yesterday while unzipping the "cbp3V4-2nd ed "map files ....and from whot i have understand filefront was involved in that bug
filefront work randomly like a big **** theses days ...not happy to eraze some file when it decide to do now u spend hours to upload files and it never deliver u any link ...it s enough for me....i ll only use mediafire now
and plz dont quit...haha... it s yer destiny

thx for the mediafire link craig,but......unfortunatly the map still crashing and fyi it s "teminal" that i just have dl and not "terminal wintered"(except if u use same name for both of course...i hadnt the time to see it crash very fast
if i can help you just ask ;if u want to send the uncooked file so i try to rebuild and cook it here ; it ll perhaps work here....i say that because i map on two computers here and sometimes only with UT3 editor some cook & builds work on one and not on the other and sometimes if i mixed some packages it just dont happen on the other one ;)
very good map and imo really more fun in this version even for 1 v 1 ;)
pure asskick gameplay ;totally different than the 1 v 1 all the action is now centralised on the railway and the outside of the structure pure fun on the bridge no big drop downs in fps i still think u need more snow on the ground but i think the material for the outside ground//floor dont fit to a snowy ground with thoses "holes" ; perhaps something more flat to give a snowy effet more visible...now it give a weird chess grid aspect with the "holes"
excellent job and really happy u found the way to fix the bugs; thx for ur efforts ;)
edit:...i forgot to tell that u really did a pure diamond on visuals; the map looks so true; one of the more realiistic i ve seen so far...congratz

no i mean thoses " stones" are slimm and if we can see them through the snow it mean that there not a lot of snow if u remove them it ll give the feeling of "more snow" because we ll imagine that they are under a couch of snow it look more snowy when they arent on the view like u see on left of the horrible blue thing that i ve done with my mouse on the picture :)
in "a" it s where it gives me a "chess grid " feeling
for the grass it s not so important even with lot of snow some are going out of the snow volume depending of their size...the stones have all same size ;srry cant find the right word for them :p
in fact it give the feeling that it just started snowing with the "stones"
I removed the stones and you were right mate it does look better. I tryed some mixed material half snow/tiles but it crashed on recook so i scrapped that idea.
Only small things that bother me from those pic is :
- The bridge (metal stairs) need something below (I know I could say that earlier, sorry). Like few columns. - The snow on the roof in the 2 pics is to much in a straight line & all the other roofs don't have snow neither (from those pics at last) ? - The 3 containers are all at level. It would be better if all of them where rotate a bit making them not 100% flat on the ground.

Ok, how many versions of this map have I played recently? Anyways...
1. Near the Udamage area, a lot of the snow bank meshes, the player can walk into and see inside the mesh.
2. I think you set up a purple light to go on when the Udamage is available (haven't looked at the map in the editor). If so, I believe it's "enabled" at the start of the level, so it automatically comes on. You should uncheck the "enable" property and make it turn on and off in Kismet.
3. I don't remember the jump pads, going back to the bridge, but I am liking them. They add to the flow of the map nicely.
4. I know I have said this before, but I will say it once more, the sound for the train passing by seems a bit "deep", for what it's worth.
5. Just a thought, I don't know if the bots are smart enough to avoid the train. Do you think it's possible to toggle the path nodes that cross the tracks while the train is passing by?
In DM-CarbonFire, they toggle the Lift Exits for one of the two platforms that move in the "outdoor" area of the map.
Other than that, I like the new winter look and the additional sections of the map. Keep it up.
Edit: You may already know this and I may sound "snobby" for mentioning it to you, but it's a good philosophy to have unique file names every time you release a map to the "public". This will help us keep track of which version we have and it will prevent any version conflicts online (there, I said my peace ). -- Edited by Odedge on Friday 20th of November 2009 08:37:42 AM
