Thought I'd update my info! (peer pressure) wink

My name is Michael Lomman but most people call me Mick or Mike.

I'm 32 and are married with 2 boys!
I've been an IT techie for the last 12 years and my main interest for getting into IT in the first place was for the games. aww

I've been working for TAFE (educational institution) for pretty much 12 years now supporting all PC's on my local site.  I've been at my current campus for probably 5 years running now, and work by myself roughly 50% of the time.  Apart from this I'm the resident techie and PC builder for friends and relatives.

I only started mapping seriously for about 2 years now within the UE3 editor.  Before that I had dabbled in the Hammer editor, made a few levels for Doom2, started a quake map, and have made a map for FarCry as well.  None of these were ever made public though.

Regarding interests, apart from gaming, I'm into most things SciFi and Fantasy and have a passion for cosmology and Astronomy.  I got a 200mm Telescope 2 years back and it was one of the best things I've ever purchased(apart from gaming PC's).

I hate cop shows like NCIS, NYPD Blue etc.. but I don't mind reality shows like Big Brother, Americas Best Dance Crew etc.. and I like my Zombies Shotgunned! biggrin

What I'm playing atm....UT3 editor, Left 4 Dead 2, Shattered Horizon, Peggle and Band(Guitar) Hero.

My favourite game ever played would have to be 'Homeworld 2'. I always play it through every year.  Something about the backdrops in that game captivate me everytime! System Shock would be a close runner as well.

I'm on FaceBook and Guildwars (as Lord PorkSword), on Steam (as Larktu) and Skype (as lord_of_tha_pantz)

FYI - 'Lord PorkSword' was a name a M8 came up with many years ago during a LAN game of AOE3.  I stole it from him and fortunately he doesn't mind. biggrin

Also I'm not associated with the Lord PorkSword on Deviantart. (someone else stole the name that I stole bleh)

Finally moved in and back at work.  Don't have internet access at home yet but hopefully soon I will...
I've spekked up the new rig as follows;

Intel Core i7-920
Asus P6T Mobo
2 Gainward 275GTX cards
1 8600GT(for physics)
4Gig Patriot-Gaming DDR3 RAM
1TB WD HDD

Hopefully that should run the latest games n UE3 Editor OK!  wink

I'll be buying the parts to my new PC later today.  smile
Fingers crossed I can get everything. confuse

I've got a copy of Windows 7 Enterprise (RTM)  through work so I'll be installing that on it.  Once it's up and running I'll hook it up to my new Samsung TV for some serious gaming. furious

...combined with the new Sony 7.2 system..a home cenima indeed! biggrin

New PC is built now! Managed to get everything together apart from the 3rd video card which I'll install once I've swapped my old 8800 with my sisters 8600.

PC is running Windows 7 Enterprise and has benched around 24,500 in 3DMark Vantage...and just scored 19135 in 3DMark06. smile

I'm tempted to chuck the 8800 in to see how it runs. wink

Howdy All,

I haven't been on much recently cuz my family n I have had swine flu for the last week so we've been bed ridden for most of it.  I've spent more time on the PC today that I have all week(which is like 30mins).
Got it monday and I still feel like ****....

I recommend not contracting it!  It's the worst flu I've ever had.  I haven't slept properly since monday night  and have only been getting about one hours solid sleep every night so I'm pretty bombed atm. yawn
