hey mates; sis have upgraded her graphic card and in the bundle it was 2 games; i just have try one of them: colin mc ray DIRT ;and wow it s very fun game
in a other way i have crysis and crysis warhead since some days and if u have the rig to play them ; they are both awesome visually and the superpowers are very original for a "military" game
...no way to compare with our old ut ...of course :p

which one do u prefer mate? i havent finish anyone but in warhead i find really fun the help from the sky :p


sista s new card is a MSI-N9800GTX-T2D512-OC:

i have change my sli of 8800gt my self for a sli of MSI-N9800GTX+T2D512-OC and i have install one of my old MSI-NX8800GT-T2D512OC on sista s computer but:

the difference between the 8800gt and the 9800gtx is so "enormous" in game that i have suggest to her to buy one too....she had luck and have found one for 99 euros(end of stocks) and more funny is that she hav ordered a bundle with the gfx only and here too was end of stock so for same price she had a special bundle with 2 games: lotr & dirt....lol....good deal ;)

technicaly thoses two cards have same processor inside :the g92 but the fastest frequencies of the GTX do really a big difference in game; with a sli of 2 GTX+ it s just awesome lol

the 9800GTX series was not interresant when it was just born because too expensives for the comparation with the 8000 serie but now....

it s a good moment to buy a 9800GTX or GTX+; they sold them very cheap;the biggest challenge is to find one; and from 99 to 120 euros it s a good deal
MSI models are OC from stock and under warranty with oc; the difference between the GTX and the GTX+ is principaly the cooling (better on 9800GTX+) and frequencies a little more fast(nothing noticeable though)

.......oh.........i stop or i ll write 4 pages.....i trust in MSI products and i like to say it haha^^

Thanks for ideas, and I know GTX is solding out smile.gif. And I think Crysis is more tactical and Crysis Warhead is more combat. I prefer original Crysis, but when you want to play without thinking about tactics, only firing what you see, Crysis Warhead is better. And, do you think 9800GTX(+) is a lot better than my old ATi HD3850 512MB, or I should wait for cheaper GTX260 (GTX285).

no no scythe ur gfx is really nice one (one of the best balance price/performance )and it s same "level" gfx
the 9800gtx+(aka v2) is better with no AA but the radeon take the lead with AA
the 4850 was 70 euros cheaper during long time (around 150 euros) but now the 9800 is cheaper (from 220/250 euros to 100/150) thats why it s interressant but...not for you...haha....u just have to wait the next gfx generation (after the 200serie) and than u ll just have to buy a 295 for the price of a 260....6/10 month from now ^^

I'm working on culling meshes right now, damn... I have 11,585 items in this level. Also, it have 6.7 millions triangles in total, oufffff.....

It's damn scary lol !!!

lord porksword had a nice idea and have start a page with all his final releases in the UT3Final thread....
do u mappers want i open a special area where we can all have a little "homepage" with all our finals
 i mean in the mapping section or in the ut3 one...or in a new dedicaced one
 (better in the mapping section or in a new one imo because some of you have ut2k4 maps to put on the page ;)...)

let me know if it s a good idea and what thread name u had like to have:

-"UOF mappers releases"
-"mappers final releases"
-"final releases & homepages"


possible to have it so:

RELEASES:

could be a nice place to have sections like the stevies corner or odes tutos

Hey Blitz,

A "1" thread with sub threads for all the mapper stuff, TBH, for my stuff I don't know ?

Don't take it wrong but this forum is visited by only few folks, which "the traffic" isn't comparable to Epic or BU or L4Y & UP.

For the moment, I prefer to leave my stuff on Epic since it's the biggest forums & permit me to inform the biggest audience in 1 spot. That applies to my :

- Stevie's corner thread
- ONS2 / VCTF / WAR custom maps thread
- CTF / Greed custom maps thread (should be available before the end of the week)
- Tutorials

Still for all the maps, I will post them all here for sure. That include release I won't publish elsewhere when time come.

for the audience i have to agree, the target isnt to get 1000 peeps visiting the forum/day ...but more to have a unique link to show all your stuff(maps lists and what u want)...just something more usefull than public forums; i balance actually how it s hard to find maps on epics

if u watch lord porkwords post about all his maps it s more clean; usefull and fast than all the multiple threads on epics...

anyway no probs with yer choice i try to keep this place alive; the first BFG forum was an active board forum too and even if noone use it since one year it still alive with all the content...

i have open this one to have a stabble "database" on how to install the game & where to find maps and content of the servers but in no way i ll give or i ll ask any loud involvement here...i have loose lot of time on bfg forum on unusefull posts

but for that unique use the forum is huge and it s just a pleasure for me to propose you to share the place with yer stuff
and i will not tell you that we re going to rule the UT world from here ...lol...or that people will come naturally here to visit your page

long post srry but i always have the feeling to "try to push" peoples and it s absolutly not my target...i just want that u feel the more comfortable possible here...

Hey Blitz,

Don't feel like that, your pushing no one. I read & understand what your aiming for.

Still, all my most visited threads are for helping people to discover great stuff. So, those threads must remains in places where there is a lot of traffic.

Also, putting everything (maps, tuts, etc) under 1 name isn't better for navigating. Per example, if I'm searching Station12, I must know the author name. Just imagine how many hundreds authors name exist ??? To add even more difficulties, I must know that Station12 is made by stevelois who is the owner of Stevie's corner......... you loose 99% of the browsers by structuring your stuff that way. So how do you want someone to easily found stuff like that ?

That is why I intent to put only my maps here since you don't bother with the author name since you don't even know it in the first place.

You forget that signature is very handy. On Epic & BU, you can access all my stuff by my sign so the info is not that hard to found. Now, with the thread CTF thread coming & the actual ONS2/VCTF/WAR thread, you have almost everything in 1 spot.

The idea is very nice mate but it just don't fit with my needs for those threads ;)

2)dont select all with "ctrl+a" but select all manually with your mouse,right click;keep finger on the mouse and expand the selected zone (only your text and your picts) no sig (even if it display here like on epics)

3)copy what u have selected

4)here click on advanced editor

5)paste (it can happen that u cant read your post in the advanced editor because of colors text difference but if u post yer reply the color will be adapted to the main text color here

6)gl ;)

Dunno if anyone has seen the reviews on the new Radeon 5x cards?  Here's a some links;

ATi fanboys everywhere are cheering cuz it's taken the single card crown..however I wouldn't be cheering until Nvidia have released the 300 series cards.

Personally I think ATi(AMD) have good hardware at a good price but I still find that their drivers are nowhere as good as Nvidia's drivers.  I've found small issues/nucinaces with ATi drivers with the last two ATI cards that I've owned (4870 and 9800pro) eventually forcing me to go back to Nvidia upon the next upgrade. 

For now I'm happy that the 275gtx SLi setup is faster than a single 5870 and is still $60-$80 cheaper as well.

@Lord:i think AMD is on the good way especially on CPUs
i agree with you bout gfx; i still on nvidia 2...but for prices; there s always a last generation to buy; for example i have buy two 9800gtx/oc for 99 euros each and it s not so old haha^^
will try the 200 series when the 300 will be out

i want to add that i had several drivers problems with nvidia gfx &....UT3 :p

In fact, reviews of ATI 58xx series as been available since ±2 weeks from now.

For GPU's, it's always the same stories, the crown is owned by ATI & then NVidia & they take the crown vice & versa.

Those 2 giants make awesome cards. Still they both have there share of problems. It always depends on "what you do". ATI drivers are much better than the old days & yes, it's the fastest single card you can get. NVidias drivers are worst than before. There drivers are more stable but lacks some functionalities specially if your doing HD video editing.

NVidia 300 series isn't supposed to beat ATI according to some experts who already had the 300 pre-samples series. But anyway, there is more to look at then pure performance before saying that this or that product is the best. We'll see :D

Next week we'll finally find out WTF is happening with Left 4 Dead 2 here in Aussie! If you haven't heard it's currently banned or will be heavily cut down to pass classification! >(
I can't believe that one religious dooshbag is stopping an R rating for computer games, which would resolve all these issues....

It depends on how strict they want to be regarding the rules, if they really don't want you to have it, they will impose fines to the places you can download them, that would stop them allowing a download down under.

It's a shame when you think of all the sex violence and language in modern films and tv
that gaming all of a sudden is the anti christ, and the cause of all evil.

Hope they lift the ban soon for you
