Description:
Cipe brings hardcore oldskool gameplay and looks in the form on an ancient castle set in a lava covered planet. Constructed from 8345 brushes, and endless hours of work. Sporting custom meshes, textures, sounds and more to make it unique.

Originally designed for competitive 4v4 games, and tested thoroughly by such players the map takes player counts from 3v3 to 6v6 nicely. However that doesn't mean it's not for casual players at all.

Story:
To some, a Molten world may seem like a place to be avoided, but it was once a place that many called home.
What was once a rich, healthy, and sustainable world, was devastated when attacked by the Necris, who harvested the planet dry for its owns means.
Now the planet's surface is engulfed with molten lava. Only the greatest structures remain, few and far between.
The most epic of these structures still stands tall; a castle which was once ripe with goodwill and honour, is now congested with violence and history.
It waits amid the lava so that it may succeed you too.

I saw ya youtube vid about a week ago which looked very nice M8! thumbsup.gif

I really like the variety in coloured lighting you've used and also the fact that it reminds me of the original Unreal! beer.gif

I'll try and give it a shot this weekend!

Well I just arrive from work so nope, I didn't play it yet lol wink

But I'm 99.99% sure I will like it smile

For your first post on UOF, your start your membership in a very strong way aww

From the pic;

BSP work is really something, seeing you use more than 8000 brushes, it's not surprising it look so detailed biggrin It shows that you work on this map many months & had a plethora of beta testers to help you out in many ways!

Lighting look fantastic, indeed it look like you reach the good balance between not to dark & not to bright. I always like your lighting in all your maps, it's really your strongest point (I do not mean that others points are bad or something).

Materials look really nice to. It's all balanced & harmonious.

I'll play the map soon to give my final opinion but I expect this level to be a masterpiece & none the less wink

I'm also curious to see the dynamic preview pic, it's not new but since so many as comments on that, I presume you add something particular confuse

So, will post later smile

& welcome on UOF Cr4zy biggrin

Thanks guys :)

Links are there as text now, copy and pasted my post from other forums which are apparently set up differently :p

Hope you get it working soon Barballs. As for next project, Sjosz stole the theme of DM-Saturation I did. Sorta half/half thing we're gonna work on. But atm who knows where it might go :p

Anyway hope you enjoy map when you get your PC sorted :)

Well Crazy,

I’m seriously impress by the brush work, it’s really outstanding & also all the other aspects (emitters, particles, materials, music, ambient sounds, footstep sounds, etc) are well made. Not only everything blend well together but add the lighting to all that, it’s really fantastic biggrin

Now I understand the preview pic comments. You use the same cool feature that was introduced in DM-Glacial by Moonflyer. It’s not new but different from the rest add something nice to your final package smile

I can’t say really nothing negative except 2 small things according to my pov of course aww

1. Many ammo are much to close to wall while there is plenty of space around them?
2. There is a Necris arch SM that imo don’t fit with the rest.

So anyway, this is really an outstanding map & THX for sharing it biggrin

Thanks. Glad you like it :)

As for your two points. The necris mesh is used mainly because doing the same thing with BSP looked messy I did try it and didn't like the result.
The ammo is something I guess i've usually done. In competitive games, players learn to know where ammo pickups are, as such if you know an enemy is low on ammo or running away there are chances of him going to obtain them, same applies to heath. Placing them closer to a wall allows for prediction based shots.
Along with it also helps to move the player/AI around to all areas of a room rather then have stuff in middle of routes.
That's not to say putting them in the middle of a room or further from a wall is wrong. It depends on what you want to achieve and how you design things.
Or atleast that's my way of looking at it :)

I'll keep the feedback short n sweet!

Looks great and plays very nicely! thumbsup.gif
I quite like the layout as well as there's many paths to choose from while at any point of the map! Great mix of z-axis action and bots seemed to play quite nicely as well!

All in all, very nicely done M8! beer.gif

Thanks.
The bot's best play well :P
Spent many hours doing paths and then spectating bot only games to see if they got stuck. Then before final about 3 hours trying to stop bots failing the udamage jump everytime :B

Finally have the time to play it,

this map is superb,
the game-play is really good and fun,
the color scheme and the visual aspect are just awesome
your skill on BSP work is impressive, so many details made just with brushes (the doors, the grid under the belt...) I can imagine the time you have past on it,

congrats for this one, probably your best map ever, and one of the best around the community so far, respect man !

and welcome here ;)

This one has a somewhat checkerboard floor plan which fits and lava with an old skool layout. It's fun to play and has excellent flow, connectivity, weapon/item placement and layout....did I mention layout?;) The castle atmosphere fits and the good lighting, colors and sound effects really help to bring that out. I liked jumping for the Udamage and the bots are good. And it didn't lock up my computer.;)
