Added some more links, in case anyones interested. The last one has some really nice tileing textures at super high res but you'll have to resize them so the engine will accept them - scale the axis to 3072x3072, then downscale for what you want. Well thats how I did it anyway. wink.gif

Just wondering if anyone can send me a photoshop cloud texture - just form a default filter say at x1024 res(jpeg). I know these tile really well. My photoshop trial wont install for some reason and this will save me banging my head against a brick wall.confuse.gif

Your always welcome 1x! smile.gif

Just went through Deviant Art forums and just a simple search pulled up tons on Seamless and regular texture packs, so I through those on the list.

I think I'll stop now the number of links are getting out of control wink.gif

I spent a while trying to make good water reflection texture like ones found in DM-shrift. Got pretty close with a lot of filters and massaging until I found This: Caustic Generator. Which nails it automatically. Not only that but they are tileable too.

The Results approximate this - with a bit of tweaking.

Oh yeah, and a bonus it GPL software.

So now all I have to do is figure out how to make a compelling caustic animation in Unreal wink.gif

Only just saw this thread!
Thanx for pointing out the planets textures pack from Deviant art! thumbsup.gif

I've exported one of the stock textures and have photoshopped the planet in then created a new material based around it. Seems to be OK so far. Might need a little work though....
That reflection looks like it could turn out quite nice, so good luck with it M8! beer.gif

I'm glad you think of my map when you post the link.

The texture look better than the stock one but I content myself of using stock assets unless they don't fit my needs. Still, this tool is very practical :)

TBH, it was planned to add that kind on reflection on the rocks & the material I use is a "lite" version of the same material from Citius :)

Only difference is that I use Decals instead of a light function.

No worries Stevelois. Just as well to use a lite version if I understand what your mean. I imagine your texture ram might be getting on the high side.

I recently found a method for optimise certain effect textures by splitting them into colour channels so you can have 3 images per 24bit tga. Epic use it in their decal effects to create extra variation in their grunge textures. See 'LI_StallMap.Decals.Materials.T_UN_Graffiti_Mask' Used in EdenInc.

I started thinking about this after reading many of Chris Albeluhn tutorials where he alludes to this. Could come in handy to do some texture optimising. Just a thought.

FYI

You might want to check Nobiax textures pack.

Since I went to check his assets, I started to post at his page asking him some info & few days ago I ask him to release another pack so I could use 1 texture in particular in Amyrade.

He made 2 more packs since the last pack you made so you might want to add those new textures in your existing pack :)

Ho and you can call me Steve m8... ;)

Thanks for pointer to Nobiax packs, they look like some good assets.

Sounds like a good idea, thanks for reminding me, that's been on the back burner for ages.

I just noticed crysis have some excellent resources on their forum. Try here: http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?cat=46

Texture wise many files are in .dds format and the .pak files can be opened by winrar or 7zip. I found that there is a plugin for infran view that should allow you to read them. So theoretically at least you can make batch conversion (I haven't tested yet). see here: http://www.irfanview.com/plugins.htm

Stumbled upon a sizable resource of clip art on the flickr user Leo Reynolds.  All are CC v3.

Most are just every day objects like signs, coins, statues, stain glass windows etc. But most all are face on/ square orientation making them perfect for use modelling and other texturing.

Maybe more interesting for modelling perspective but still good for general use non the less.

I just want to recommend texturelib.com. This site has only limited free access (1-2 textures/ day) but it's quite cheap.

I bought a 1 month subscription which lets you download 30 full-res (60 half-res) pictures per day - after all I got more than 1000 textures for just 9$.

I recommend http://www.textures4photoshop.com

They have about 3000 free textures. There is no download limit. You can use the textures for commercial projects also but with attribution.
