Greed/DM-Obert [Beta] [Q*bert inspired map]

I posted this map in the Epic forums a while ago (Blitz & Diesalot tested it).  I have worked on it some more and it's essentially done (just waiting for custom music to be made, which won't be for a month or so).

The map is inspired by the classic arcade game Q*bert.  I thought the layout would be great for Greed as it has the "king of the hill" feel to it.  I also tried to add additional elements from the game (platforms that take you to the top of the "hill").

I tried to keep the colors basic so they won't distract you too much while playing (as the original colors I used did a lot).  While the map is designed for Greed, I also have a DM version as well (still has some Greed elements that will be removed for the final version).

More greed is always good, will try it this w/e mate.
I liked the colors before though.

I am more than open to using the original or other color combinations.  The flashing floors were a bit much though, so I got rid of them.  I will keep the floor pattern (tiles) as it's needed to break up the ground.  If you have another color combination, I will try that in addition to trying out the original color scheme.

lol @o-bert..... its kind of a catchy name. heh.

OK never mind about the redeemer, found the damage amplifier, i'd suggest to adjust the respawn time on it so that it stays available constantly, more incentive to fight to the top for the "king of the hill" slot.

I like the variable damage feature depending on how high up the pyramid you are.

Small unique dimensional arena! - could make for some intense action.

Simple isn't always a bad thing, and obviously not in this case. Good work O-bert!

Can you do that, change the respawn time?  Also keep in mind you do get a viewpoint advantage being on the top square as well.  I don't know if I would want the Udamage to always be on, because it defeats the purpose of it being a special pickup.

This is actually a Greed feature (to keep the skull in the game), do you think I should keep it for the DM version (was originally planning on getting rid of it.)

Hehehe, this map was meant to be a "fun/silly" map, which I don't usually make.  If you have enough players, it will be intense, as all maps will.  Being a fan of Greed, I also wanted to try this layout and how it effects game play.

p.s. About my website, are you near the Washington DC area?  I think the server is located there, which is almost on the opposite side of the country to me (I am in Southern California).

With regards to the respawn time, i don't think it can be adjusted, i assumed it could be but after looking further into it no dice.

I actually do like the variable damage feature; being a king of the hill style map - its very appropriate. - The map would also be fun with the weapons mutator for rocket arena.

I'm actually west USA.

West SIDE!  Hmm, now I wonder why kind of transfer rates you got.  My gaming buddy gets a noticeably faster rate as he is located in New York.

my .02 only on a very rare certain type of map where people have to fight to get to a certain spot, thus all who get there can have the special power to go with the king of the hill spot, remember with king of the hill many are knocked off / down quickly, it could overwhelm the map though on the other hand, it would need to be tested.
