Being totally non religious and more so believing that people get themselves out of a rut rather than some divine deity I have to say it's good to hear that you are on the mend Mate! In the end it doesn't matter how you get there but the fact that you have gotten there!
Much respect to you for posting this and putting your personal life out 'in public'! I hope these things in your past are now gone and that you are now a stronger person because of it!
Just remember that you'll always have friends here my friend!
not a lot to add to what said Mick, i think we all have our faith somewhere, gods, lords....humans..
....personnaly, i m scared by religions and humans...lol....not easy to deal with that... really glad to hear that you feel better and to see you back here
Unrelated, (unrealated? perhaps) I started school this week, studying... Level Design @ Malmö Sweden, a very prestigeous and well known school and I got in thanks to my work for UT3 :D
Possibilities of something Unreal might not be impossible!
(We have access to UE4)

Very good news m8

Yes I agree.
This is one issue I have with the new UT. Realistically to keep going with creating content for the new game you need an active subscription. Same with testing user maps. You need the same engine version as them to try their maps which kinda sucks really. :(
ahhhh...i m happy to hear that, i thought i was too hard with them....more i think about it....more i find it unfair and quite disrespectfull to their long time mapping community
first time i ve ask "where is the free version for mappers" it was a....joke...but lol....nononono..finaly.....it wasnt
....just to ask, how many times u have to pay for a map? :1 time to start and one other to publish the map on the last version of the engine ?
Thanks Blitz!
It's really fun, should you ever feel like it, feel free to chime in into the UT irc channel for some talk or the UTContributor irc channel to read what we're talking about. You'll be surprised when you realize how offtopic some discussions can be there. ;)
I got an Oculus Rift DK2 about 2 weeks back.
It's farken awesome folks!
First the bad:
There are some major fixups that need to be done around the software implementation in windows. Software runs either 'direct to rift' or extended mode where the rift becomes another screen. In most cases the rift has to be the primary device so it runs at 75hz to help avoid motion sickness. Personally I prefer 'direct to rift' as it feels much cleaner than extended plus you don't have to stuff around with your windows desktop. Unfortunately there seems to be non-uniformity toward everyone going direct or extended.
Other biggest issue is the resolution, while 1080p, is still not high enough.
Motion sickness is an issue however it depends on the circumstances and your orientation in-game. I can play Alien: Isolation with no issues until the world tilt issue occurs then it can cause problems. However, things like Elite: Dangerous I can play all day without any issues!
The good:
The resolution may feel low but you honestly cannot beat the feeling of being 'in the game world'. I'd take the DK2 over a triple/quad screen setup any day! Words cannot describe how cool it really is! Especially in games like Alien Isolation and Elite: Dangerous! If you ever get the chance to try one I very much recommend it!
There's a steady amount of apps coming out with Rift support atm, with sites like www.wearvr.com/# making it easy to track down games and 'VR experience demos'.
Once the hand tracking hardware picks up momentum we're all in for a treat! (like Leap Motion)
It cost me $500 to get one shipped to here in Australia and I can honestly say, after using it, I have no regrets paying that price for this piece of hardware.
Anything I do in UE4 the future will be supporting VR. I look forward to playing my Legacy remake in VR when I get off my ass and get back into UE4!
Still alive! Been at the Nordic Game Conference with school.
Manager to grab Hourences for a UT discussion!
He agreed with me on CTF-FacingWorlds not being a very good map (sorry Cedric Fiorentino) :P He did however not back me up on the balance issues of Eternal Caves :(
In other news. We had a 2 week assignment in school to create a map for UT4, i'll upload mine next week incase any of you wanna try it. Will probably get it meshed out during summer, got some skills in 3D now also :)
nice to hear news from you mate and really glad u re doing your way into mapping with skilled and trusted mappers....i d like to try your map for sure but i must admitt that i want to try to much thing to succed to try em all....hm?!...lol^^
Kind of agree on Facing Worlds. It was never a favourite of mine. I did like the visual concept but not the gameplay...
+1 the visuals are EPIC !!...so unrealish...but depending with who you re playing the gameplay can be very very repetitive, always trying to cross the map under hard sniping is something boring
Agree about the visuals but there's no cover outside the towers and 3 sniper rifle pickups on each side :P
Anyways, posted the map here: https://forums.unrealtournament.com/showthread.php?17990-DM-Rook&p=168527#post168527 (you might notice that the layout is somewhat similar to one of my UT3 maps)

But then again, I have had internet-downtimes around that time. Or maybe it just got lost in the New Years hectics and I forgot to hit the reply button, haha!
