Name: Unreal Old Friends Map Pack

Version: 1.0

Requirements: UT3 + Patch 2.1 + Titan Pack

Release date: July 1st, 2010

Description: The idea of this pack, launched in December 2009 consists of maps designed by a group of amateur level designers all around the world who have had the taste to develop & share their work with the UT3 community.

This pack is intended to be primarily a fun group project made by a great bunch of friends that combines several different styles of maps depending on the author. The pack should satisfy all kind of players. Whether you prefer old-school visuals or newer UT3 visuals, hopefully there's something in the pack to satisfy everyone’s tastes.

There are also Greed versions from all DM maps. The Greed conversions include many changes from there DM version.

Several months of development & testing have been invested in this pack. We hope that you have as much fun playing with our maps we've had to build them.

Game types: 2 CTF, 5 DM, 4 Greed, 1 VCTF, 1 WAR

Manual installation:

Extract the UOF Map Pack.rar archive into :

"...\My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\CustomMaps" directory. If this folder is not currently on your system, you can safely create it.

Automatic installer:

Run UOF Map Pack.exe & follow the steps.

Manual installation for PS3:

Extract UOF Map Pack for PS3.rar. Each map of this pack as is own directory since you must copy each of the USERDATA.JAM file to a data card and insert it into the PS3 console. Note that WAR-UOF-Artica couldn't make it.

do you already have a content description? what style of gameplay dominate?


(DM-Aero is visually close to holp (i like it) and reminds me DM-Integrity by Slainchild in more colorful, I am very curious about WAR-Artica: this is not a final version of a map never finished?)

Since it's the first pack we intent to include maps that cover all game type.

Some maps are more HOLP oriented, others mored meshed & others a mix of the two depending of the author.

I'll leave Lord_PorkSword answer about Artica aww

Yes Artica has been in the works for about 2+ years now. It was put on the back burner a few times for other maps but I wanted to include it in the UoF pack. It's Necris vehicles vs Axon and will feature at least 1 occurance of most vehicles!  I don't want to say much more than that as the map is still being tweaked.

I'm sorry to announce that the pack will be a bit delayed.

The first planed date was 21th of June but now it's July 1, 2010.

Some crew members need a bit more time to finish there work so we extend the release date 1 week later.

I'm a French guy to with an average English & most members are English peops & there French is rather limited (much more than my english lol nana.gif). So if you want yourself to be understand by most of them, it is better to post in English smile

Since i made thats sound bad to a new person on this site.
Please dont take this the wrong way. Im just used to Blitz is all.
Blitz likes to sometimes comment in French, but is always good enough to kind of translate back to English so I know what hes been posting.
I think Steve does this too.
I for one am very happy the guys do this.

Well the plan is to publish both an archive (RAR) that contain everything & a installer the same day biggrin

I'll publish that archive tomorrow. After, there will be an automated installer available (EXE).

There will be a couple of hours of delays between the RAR & EXE since I'm making the archive & Odedge is making the EXE (we're not in the same time zone).

A PS3 pack is also planned & will be release ASAP smile

Very nice job UOF team!

I post my freeback here because ive noticed some trick:

CTF-UOF-Incinerate by Thrallala
-bug: a missing blocking volume on red side

DM-UOF-Aero by Sébastien 'NOVA'
-sounds and effects are strange: impression that they are distant  (perhaps only with me)

DM-UOF-Hibernate by Thrallala
-area at the top is a bit narrow

DM-UOF-Hidrotrik by Odedge
-just 2 lights dont touch the wall:

DM-Orbital Flux by Lord_PorkSword
-trigger volume is a bit too low : if your last frag is in vacuum the victory screen will be black
-this corridor is narrow with titan mutator on

DM-UOF-Peak
-multiple gateway are really dark: some staticmesh are black
-there is a hole near this stair :

VCTF-UOF-Compound by Diesalot
-seeing the wallpaper of the map I was afraid that it is empty, but is not the case.
-bug: If we auto-detroy the scorpion we are projected into the air, but here we touche a slightly too low volume blocking (a frustrating )

WAR-UOF-Artica by Lord_PorkSword
-the low-field: the only map where I saw a bot with this pickup in a scarvenger darkens me on it ))
No jump here ? only hammer jump and teleport?

(Except CTF-UOF-AndAction!_2K10 i find all map very fun)
